Imagine what JJ3 and - eventually - Rapp will get on the open market. In my opinion, they're both better safeties than Baker.

Clearly we will just keep drafting safeties.

Lol from what it looks like, we may not have to draft another S for the next 2 3 years imho.

And on Baker that contract is wrong for a couple reasons. Mostly who knows what the cap is next year and it's no time to be doing record contract for.at imho this Safety.

He's exceptional and instinctive vs the run. I wanted us to take him in the draft, he was one of my favorite players of that class. But yeah, is it wise to reset the safety market for a SS?

Generally you can find SS types in every draft without too much problem. It's the rangy ball types that are a little tougher to get. But safety overall isn't a supply/demand position and you can see that with the position being the lowest paid.

All that aside he's a spunky MFer who has a win mentality. So maybe the intangibles are there and that's what the Cards wanted to lock up. Either way he's a heck of a player you just gotta use him for what he's good at.

I’m a BB fan, but that’s a bad contract. Not worth it.

This likely further cements JJ leaving. Maybe helps our company pick situation if the price for Safety’s goes up now.

Yeah for sure JJ is all but gone now. JJ is a better safety that BB, even though I wanted to draft BB he isn’t worth that contract. Glad we got ahead and drafted to very good safety prospects. By the time they come up we could resign then.

I thought JJ would be gone before this, now...

Although, depending on how the cap shakes out, could be franchised I guess. But that was definitely the reason for the Burgess pick anyways

As I've been saying this is why they drafted Burgess. Not only does he bring better range, but Snead can also see they will be outbid for Johnson. But in reality its okay because with Rapp, Fuller and Burgess that would leave them 3 deep with Scott now showing up in practices as well.

What I didn't like about Johnson is that too many times he was a step late. That was his 4.6 speed showing.

At the very least we are getting a 3rd for JJ by letting him leave in FA. I think we bite if we get an offer for more for sure!

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: leave it to the cards to overpay what's been one of the lowest paying positions in the NFL, outside of special teams. SS is a dime a dozen position. That contract is absurd. Go Cards:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
