There was some value but its not like there were one or two guys in there playing with the rest of the ones. This was mostly second string against the niners ones. Put Manion in there with the rest of the Rams ones and it would have been a different performance.

This did more for the niners organization and their fan base than anything the Rams got out of it.

This is just like the NBA not playing their ones down the stretch. They are still getting thousands of dollars to perform for the audience who is paying they way to play a game for a living.

Nah you're just having a tantrum reaction to not gettin your way dude.

Tell me how many times the Rams big wins over the Seahawks even when they were full strength hurt them in their playoff runs while we were at home watching the playoffs on TV. You're just lashin out, and that's cool by me. To each his own and all that.

Respectfully, I thought Mannion looked off all night. His throws were rarely placed properly and on time. His entire game is slow. I'd like to see us go another direction this off-season.

His game is slow can’t argue that. I wasn’t expecting miracles with the supporting cast he was given. He had a number of good decisions at critical times but then his guy dropped the ball. Kendrick’s who was heavily featured just didn’t help him out at all.

I would like to see him behind the starters in a preseason game, with the investment we have in him learning the offense. But if the next backup beats him out you won’t hear me crying.

Nah I just don't agree with how they handled it. Seen it too many times, teams shut it down and then can't restart it in time. They go up against a team that had to work to get in and are on a roll and they are looking around at the end of the game trying to figure out what happened.

Done now and we'll see what happens, I'm all for them proving me wrong.

Look, I'd rather pay for this one game vs. half the games Rams played last year after they were eliminated half way through the season. I'm really tired of all the whining about having tickets to this last game. Would you rather had starters playing for another losing record? Geez!
You act as if there are only those two options which isn't close to true.

The Rams were also playing for the 3rd seed, I have no idea why the Rams organization didn't value that. The way things fell they still got it and will face the lower seeded Falcons instead of the Panthers maybe they thought the Falcons would lose that game, they'll never tell the whole story.

I've already stated what I would have rather had, a 9ers asswhopping and a heathy team with momentum going into the playoffs. Obviously we don't agree on that we'll just have to hope it all works out and they can put together another winning streak.

I understand and realise this but those bitches arent worth ruining our season. freak them... next year we will stomp that ass. Im not to impressed with Grabapole against our 2 and 3's anyways.
He did give up a bad INT to a guy in his first game. A guy who is behind the guy behind the guy in front of both of them.

Yes it is great but they have nothing to do with each other. If you're ok with giving them a game on your home turf I don't understand why you like the game at all.

You play to win the games.

The product they put on the field today is noting short of disrespecting the game, the history and the fans who pay for all of this.

I disagree with McVay's approach to this game, hey should have played this game with their best and tried to kick the crap out of the niners. Being afraid of injuries is no way to run a football organization. My opinion and I really don't care who disagrees I'm not looking for anyone's approval.
You’re entitled to your opinion.

Getting ready for the playoffs rather than playing all your stars against an in division rival hell bent on ruining your season is smart coaching IMO. This to all but the fans was a meaningless game.

I have been a Rams fan for 50 years and hate the whiners as much as anyone. And still this game didn’t bother me one iota.

You play the game to win a championship - not some game that will get you no closer to that end.

We are in the first year of a new regime and have serious depth concerns. So to me that means you don’t risk you key starters just to please a few fans. I’d be pissed if I had tickets. But hey. I went to a Lakers game a few years back and they sat Kobe and Shaq to keep them healthy for the playoffs. Meh. It’s the way it goes.

Too many injuries this season for me to get upset over this or second guess a coach that has taken us from pitiful to the #1 scoring offense in the league and winning the division.

So have at it. Your opinion is yours. It is valid because it is just that - your opinion.

Look at it this way. At least you now know how screwed you are if Goff goes down and Mannion has to play.

Sigh so we have to resort to childish name calling to try and force your thoughts as right understood #grow up
Keep it about discussion. He doesn’t like it. I get it. I agree with you but he doesn’t need to grow up because he doesn’t like the mentality of not going after the win - ESPECIALLY against the fucking whiners.

Cheers.

This guy has to be a troll. Nobody gets mad for the coach sitting the starters in a meaningless game.

The OP is probably a 49ers fan trying to rile us up.
I don’t think Bart is a troll. Keep it about the post.

Cheers

Not really, we have no idea how well he would do with the rest of the ones. I'm betting you weren't thrilled when Case started the run the Vikes are on but he's proved that given the right circumstances these "lesser talented" guys can win.

Indeed. But the problem here is you can't be proved right. Even if they lose it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with them resting starters.

Either way though, it's all good man. Hopefully we'll crush the Falcons and this entire thread will die lol.

Actually after his first game, (Pittsburgh), I wasn't impressed. But then he only found out an hour before the game he was starting. The next week he did fine. And I was "Okay, he's doing fine. As long as he doesn't lose games til Bradford comes back" By the second quarter of the first Bears game..........."Dammit, put Case in already!"

Don’t get me wrong here Jrry. If we go another direction - so be it. But almost no one is going to look good in this situation. Timing isn’t all about the QB. Receivers are not going to look good with such limited playing time. The timing of the Oline will be off. It is just not a one game and you should look decent scenario. Mannion looked off but so did the whole team. Meh.
He actually reminded me a lot of Goff last year tbh. Had some nice throws here and there but hesitation and late on many throws. I think he’ll come along but since this is his last year might be more cost efficient to draft a backup.
I am a Mannion fan from watching virtually every snap he had in college. My son went to OSU when he was playing. If we go another direction - fine. But I get the feeling we could do a LOT worse for a backup. Drafting is not an instant improvement. But I trust this new regime. What they do is probably going to be the right move.
To some degree, that's true. However, Goff has a much quicker release and feet. The big problem is that he's had all year in McVay's system, and he's still not looking much improved. I just don't see him growing that much. I think he's a career backup and not a great one.
We’ve been through this before. To even think he has “had all year” is foolish. You have said many times that playing the games is what gets you there. You can’t learn everything from the bench.

I realize you don’t consider anyone a rookie if he has had NFL coaching. But you also discount previous coaching. You’re not wrong in that but to think that a back up is getting the same opportunity for improvement as what Goff has received (earned) is ludicrous.

To think that Mannion would come in and have his timing and game tuned in or else he can’t in the future is selling him and any other QB short.

Check the stats, sonny

Come on Bart. Knock off the sonny bullshit.

I have the same feeling man. It’s going to be interesting for sure! Especially with how our post season ends with a Lombardi! :yess:

i'm not sure what teams you're talking about but i only remember that happening when teams had the #1 seed wrapped up 4 weeks before the playoffs. i'm talking about the broncos and colts. both rested elway and manning, giving them little game time over the last 3 weeks. got screwed in the divisional rounds.

can't remember it happening when starters are rested for 1 game in week 17.

Calling people losers for jot supporting his opinion however is what drew the comment @RamsFan503
