On this TD Pass completed by the 49ers... 3rd & Goal from the 8 Yard Line?

#21 Sensabaugh has outside coverage on his WR and covers him until about the 3 yard line. After 3 yards he just lets him go/drift as if there is safety zone help etc.

The issue for me is this is 3rd & Goal from the 8 and he doesn't even jam or funnel the WR in any capacity and looks lost just shuffling his feet 3 yards deep in the endzone.

He looks bewildered and just watches the TE make the TD catch as if he was safe guarding a ghost RB sneaking out of the backfield into his zone?

Anyway.... Sensabaugh stops covering the WR at about the 3 yard-line (no RB or other 49er player anywhere near his zone) and yet he's just shuffling his feet backwards 3 yards deep in the endzone?

No reaction/assignment or instincts to help with any kind of coverage? He just watches the closest player/ TE catch the TD pass with not other 49er player anywhere near his zone? This is quite baffling after watching it several times....

It's called the Fisher shuffle.

Do whatever you can to appear competent even if you have no clue what you are doing.

He's in zone coverage. He's just doing a terrible job of it. He showed absolutely no awareness. He passed his WR off. He should have picked the TE up.

Then again, he was just as terrible in man coverage.

tough to take a man corner...that struggles is this role...and place him on the outside, where he LOOKS unfamiliar in this defense....and expect him to play well...we should have been blitzing and playing man to man...imo...it's easier until everyone gets on the same page mentally, then try zone coverages...jmo

Sensabaugh has looked like FSU facing that Lousiville QB...overmatched...since week one of preseason....the titan fans have told anyone that listens he's garbage...don't be surprised if the best scouting service (local hardcore fans) is correct.

Shoulda went out and got a REAL asset to replace EJ while he's hurt...and really stand in for Jenkins...

I've been highly unimpressed with this dude since day one. He was getting beat up and down the field in preseason.

It was zone. He was thinking he could jump the out route.

Conspiracy theory: Fisher only hired him to wear 21 as means to diss the number and Jenkins for his betrayal.

The Rams under Fisher have shown the ability to recognize and develop talent in the secondary.
Mark Barron was "a bust". Gaines was a steal. McCleod was an UDFA, Tru wasn't on anyone's radar,... .

Well, he seems to have graduated from signaling incomplete after the catch... To just standing in bewilderment and putting his hands on his hips. That's progress, right?

He sure as hell wasn't playing CB in the NFL.

It looked more like he was auditioning for the Olympics in ice-skating.

Too bad the 49ers didn't know that. The TE stopped right in the hole in the zone that he didn't bother to guard.

Coty Sensabaugh has only played 4 preseason games and one regular season game and, well?

#21 is best suited to be a lifeguard at the Olympics swimming events

Yep. I think Sensabaugh is relying too much on his acceleration, and he's a bit of a gambler. Kind of like Jenkins was in his first year. I don't expect him to get abused all year like that either. We have some very good defensive coaches, so they'll get it sorted out. And even if he ends up being a one-year flop for us, he's a really, really good person. I think people really need to read up on how much this guy gives back to the world. Doesn't help on the field, I know, but this guy really has his priorities in the right order.

I haven't seen any gambling. I've seen Sensabaugh doing the opposite. Waiting for the guy to catch the ball and then tackling him.

looking at the coaches film, it looks like barron is the one that really messed up by not getting wide enough
