On this episode of Breakfast With Bernie, the Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz wonders why the Rams were so quick to re-sign Rodger Saffold after the left tackle failed a physical with the Raiders.

Why? So we can tick him off and he goes elsewhere? Besides, we had an offer in place when he left. He just came back and signed it...

WTH, BERNIE! Quit making something out of nothing.

I always love listening to Bernie. Looking at him while he speaks is nice too.

Why? Because there was no failed physical; no labrum that needed surgery. Poor MacKenzie was undercut by little Al, worried about looking like a laughingstock, which then happened anyway.

Ok Bern,we get it ,you're astounded, and we aren't surprised that you are, because of course after ALL THESE YEARS of reporting on professional sports you still are clueless.
The Rams weren't embittered lovers jilted by their one true love, they are a business enterprise that sincerely believed they had extended a business proposition at fair market value ,that the person they had extended that offer to had gotten an outrageous offer and prudently decided to accept it. When the overzealous bidder reneged ,they were asked if their offer was still good and they said yes, because they thought it was a fair deal from the start and there was no need for childish get even ism. Had they tried to sweat Roger that would have surely caused ill feelings .
See herein lies the crux of the problem with Pat, he/she's a childish "little" ( euphemism ) twit who takes way too much personally when there is no justification and in his/her willingness to surrender to his/her childish emotions he/she engenders contempt for his/her lack of dispassionate journalistic professionalism.
What were the Rams supposed to do? Tender a lower offer and watch as another team signed Roger for the same deal we offered in the first place? Then the Rams would have looked as foolish as the Raiders or maybe even as foolish as Bernie.
