The Cleveland Browns will hire Kyle Shanahan as their new offensive coordinator, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Shanahan had been the offensive coordinator for the last four seasons under his father, Mike Shanahan, with the Washington Redskins.

The younger Shanahn also was the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans under Gary Kubiak; he was the NFL's youngest coordinator in 2008 at 28 years old.

The Redskins fired both Shanahans on Dec. 30, one day after completing a 3-13 season.

Kyle Shanahan will replace Norv Turner, who presided over the NFL's 18th-ranked offense in his one season as the Browns' defensive coordinator.

The Browns fired offensive-minded head coach Rob Chudzinski after one season and replaced him with Mike Pettine, the former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator.

Just no...

Soon they'll be trading Gordon for a first round pick.

That's either really good news, Kyle having coached a running QB for the last two years, He may fall for Johnny Half Game, and politic to trade up for him.

Or it's really bad news, because he realises that trading with the Rams costs you your job.

I actually think Kyle Shanahan is a good OC. Like the route combinations he uses and the way he schemes to get his WRs running open. There's a good reason why RGIII was so good as a rookie. And Matt Schaub killed it under Shanahan in Houston.

Agreed-he actually isn't a bad OC.

I concur much rather have Kyle Shanahan over Schottenheimer any day...He'll do a good job for the Browns and very blunt in his interview and the Browns almost did not hire him because Jimmy Haslam and President Joe Banner don't like to hear the truth.

Problem is that a good move for the Browns would be to acquire Kirk Cousins, but Haslam wants flash and Shanahan will be coaching Johnny Football come their OTA after the draft IMO.
