My problem with Brit is that this is his contract year and his first year to reach 1K yards receiving. Coincidence? I think not. He had what I feel was a better opportunity to reach the 1K plateau in the past and didn't perform. Now he's looking for the money.

As for Britt, he was a FIsher guy and came to St Louis because of him. He had a 1000 yard season last year, surprise...surprise, before Free Agency
The problem with that thought is, this will be Britt's 3rd contract year. And Britt has steadily improved every season aside from his injured year, not sporadically like a contract player. He'll probably want a decent amount of money, but most players would, and he's earned it.

I'd be tempted to take a long, hard look at Britt simply because he proved he can be a productive receiver with poor QB play. If Goff improves under McVay then Britt will benefit from that.

The other factor that comes into play is that the OL is so poor that a lot of capital needs to be invested there in terms of both free agency and the draft in my view. Bearing that in mind, can we afford to weaken other areas of the offence by not resigning Britt? Obviously depends on the contract as well.

This point could just as easily be made about Tru Johnson as well. That CB group is very poor without him and resources are more urgently needed elsewhere. If Johnson leaves then we'll have lost most of our secondary that Fisher brought in and developed (and he did develop them, it was about the only thing Fisher was consistently good at). TJ is a free agent as well so if he was to leave that would be all of them gone (the McSafeties, Tru and JJ). Good teams don't draft/develop players only for them to leave at the first opportunity.

Sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there

Looking at the stats doesn't tell the full story, as Cook was one of the top targets for the Rams, getting more targets than guys like Austin and Quick, etc. While in GB he's not going to take looks away from Cobb and Nelson.

The best players demand the most targets. To be fair, Tavon did have more overall touches and was a more crucial piece to the offense. Cook came into GB and hasn't even done as much as Richard Rodgers the year before.

Garcon can take Britt spot. I cant see Britt being able to go from being "the man" on Fisher team, to 2nd fiddle to whoever McVay brings in as his guy
Not sold on Desean. 30 isn't old, but if he loses a step, I don't see him being anything special

Some of you want to retain Quick? Are you out of your skull? Lol

I say bring back neither then bring in Garcone to pair with Kenny Stills. That would be a sexy ass tandem.
