As the draft approaches, plenty of teams supposedly want to trade down. And plenty of teams supposedly want to trade up.

The Bills, we’re told, have been burning up the phone lines in an effort to work out a deal that would vault them from No. 9 to No. 1 or No. 2. The targets are believed to be defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and tackle Greg Robinson.

It’s unclear what it would take to get a deal done. With both the Texans and Rams hoping to slide down, the Bills could spark a bidding war for a bargain. Regardless of the cost, it appears that G.M. Doug Whaley, who could have a new boss by the end of the year, hopes to make the team dramatically better, quickly.

Clowney would be installed as the bookend to Mario Williams in Jim Schwartz’s 4-3 defense, giving the Bills a potentially dominant pass rush, especially with Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus creating havoc in the middle.

Robinson, conversely, would instantly help the offense produce more yardage and points in a pass-happy league. Some think the Bills would be willing to dangle receiver Stevie Johnson as part of a trade package, but if the goal is (as it should be) to win now, it wouldn’t make sense to shuffle him out of Buffalo.

Damn I wish there was a clear-cut Franchise QB available in this draft that the Texans needed badly.

I still think the Rams have a better chance of trading 13 than 2.

Why would they do that???

How much money would be invested up front...and for how long? All 4 of those guys won't get paid.

And Greg Robinson? They would take a guy to play guard or RT and give up picks for that? C'mon man. They have Cordy Glenn and can take Zac Martin or Taylor Lewan w/ their original pick for that.

Draft rumors are so stupid.

Bills only have 6 picks in the entire draft. Of course they could offer 2015 selections, but I have my doubts they can swing a trade up that high.

I think we'd have to get quite the deal to get that done.

I'd say swap first, a 2nd this year, a 1st and 3rd next would do it.

Just a bidder for my part, don't want to go that far down unless it's a monster deal, mainly because it pretty well means Lewan, want to stay high enough to get Matthews

If Bills draft a WR, Stevie Johnson could be on the block

The Bills have been rumored to be one of the teams looking to move up in the NFL Draft tonight.

But if they do, one of their current stars might have a new address.

According to Joe Buscaglia of WGR-550 in Buffalo, wide receiver Stevie Johnson will go on the trade block if the Bills are able to land a top wideout early.

Johnson’s coming off a disastrous 2013, though coach Doug Marrone was talking him up earlier this offseason.

He has some value, but the Bills appear serious about adding a young pass-catcher, which could make him expendable.

I've heard Rams want to pick at 2 and either trade up or down at #13 depending on who's available as the early picks go on. They want elite players rather than extra picks.

This is exactly what I want them to do. Hope it happens.

Well, I guess if the rumors are true that the Texans are no longer looking to trade their #1 pick then the Bills must be targeting the Rams for the #2 pick. It will be interesting to see what (If, this rumor is true) the Bills are offering the Rams!

If you get s great deal to move down, you can always throw a pick back in to trade back up since a lot of teams are looking to add picks in this deep draft.

So you end up with the Bills 15' #1, which could be another high one, and another couple of high picks, trade one of the remaining picks and move back up into the top 6.

Too many what if's for me. Hard to make that all happen. Worst case, we are stuck at their pick.
