Just heard Rick Venturi and D"Marco say the DL should have done more last night.

Brockers was being handled buy John Greco. That should not happen.

Quinn just ran into and stuck to Joe Thomas.

Venturi siad Langford continues to be Mr. Invisible.

They need to play better even if it's straight up vanilla.

Yeah, I was hoping for more pressure from a 4-man rush as well.
That's the bread and butter of any good defense.

I expect a much better showing by the DL next week against the Packers in the dome.

It didn't really look like they were going at it with 100% intensity. I don't know if that was by design, or what. At one point in the game it looked like Fisher (or maybe Walton) had had enough of the easy passes and they started to dial up a little more pressure, so maybe we're just not seeing what they're capable of yet. I hope.

Color me neutral. It's preseason!

If anything; its the roster bubble guys to examine. Brockers, Quinn, Langford -> these guys have nothing to prove.

I think you nailed it here.
IMO the Brownies simply came out faster and with more intensity than our guys. Disappointing? Sure, but we know what our DLine is capable of.

I thought our OLine was a litte soft early too,but they ramped it up a notch after the first drive too match the Browns "preseason intensity level"

Langford needs to prove something with me. I've been totally unimpressed with his play. That includes the second half of last season despite what others have said.

Did anybody else notice that we just didn't look like we were in shape? Conrath flashed for me a couple times, as did Brodine.

The D in general was poor.... As far as the Oline goes...hard for me to put Langford in front of the rest...none of them played well.

I am right there myself......Switzerland like.

It's the first game of the pre season. No questions get answered and no new ones really come up.

Yeah i saw Conrath bent over a couple times in huddle....looking for his oxygen tank. He did play well though vs the run. Work work work! Its good for him. Get that boy in shape

Ya know... we are all in love with Fisher. But, if we got a guy buckling over he's either sick or not working hard enough before this game! I'm not critiquing Conrath. Instead question what Fisher is doing with the cardio.

Yeah, I saw a few guy sucking wind early on. You'd think with all the pie assaults taking place around Rams Park, that everyone would have their cardio in peak condition by now.

I would rather have the 'made" DL guys mail it in for games like this, instead of going all out and risking injury

I'm not panicking either. I just think that Langford needs to show he's worth the money we're paying him. First preseason game or not.

I think it just shows with this new CBA, that it takes guys a while. Football shape is different than being in shape, although the Browns looked like they were more in shape than us.

I feel as if I specifically remember the front four getting almost no pressure during the preseason last year, and we all know how that turned out. Color me not worried.

I'm not worried either. Pressure is created mostly by scheme as opposed to physically man-handling the opponent.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it didn't seem like the DLinemen were being rotated in and out like they would be during the season.
