Maybe it's just me, but for some reason, it's difficult for me to get motivated to do something without blasting some music.

Whether it's some old-school rock 'n' roll like The Rolling Stones or something like Eminem or Jay Z to inspire me, it's critical to hype me up and get the blood flowing.

Most athletes aren't any different.

Listening to their headphones for hours before a game, none of us really know what's on their iPods. That doesn't mean I can't guess, though, as these are the best pregame pump-up songs right now.

It may start out slow—but all dubstep songs seem to, right?

Seeing the song "Raindrops" in a number of different hype videos for college football and hoops teams over the past few months proves that this is something that just goes well with sports.

Like a few others on this list, it won't make someone run through a wall upon hearing it, but it'll get a player in the right mindset to go out and completely dominate his opponent.

There's just something about Eminem's rhymes that, when mixed with the tone in his voice, strike a nerve with athletes everywhere.

While "'Till I Collapse" might be a few years old, it's still a song that can be blasted through headphones before any competition to get someone pumped up.

I mean, the entire song is about fighting through something until collapsing, so of course Em's song makes someone get the best out of himself.

OK, so Lorde's "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," might be a slower remix of the original by Tears for Fears, but after being on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, it has become quite the hype song, too.

Of course, listening to it doesn't get anyone to the point where they're about to bust down a door with their head, but it hits a nerve inside, hoping to bring the best out of someone.

Like climbing a mountain, Lorde's song is about the journey, not about instant satisfaction.

Every competitor knows that it's going to take work to reach the level that they seek out.

For that reason, A$AP Ferg's aptly titled "Work REMIX" is the perfect hype song to blast through headphones or stadium speakers to get ready for the challenge ahead.

Whether it's before a game or after a big win, Ferg brings it with his lyrics and beat that get a team hopping around, strutting with confidence.

The AC/DC song might be, surprisingly, 25 years old this year, but it's still an all-time classic that gets teams fired up about stepping onto a field or court.

Not only that, but because it's been played in stadiums for as long as it has, fans are familiar with it and know exactly when to get up and hop around to inspire their teams.

With its guitar riffs, drum beat and familiarity, "Thunderstruck" will forever be in the hyped sports songs Hall of Fame.

Another song that features Eminem on it, the Detroit rapper is one of the most recognized celebrity sports fans, so it seems natural for his beats and lyrics to inspire athletes.

With verses by fellow rapping sports fanatic 50 Cent, "Patiently Waiting" gets the blood flowing as players bob their heads in anticipation of a big game.

There's something in the beat that makes people think that it's them against the world, which is a good mentality to have while going to battle in competition.

Machine Gun Kelly has been on the scene for the past couple of years, and his 2012 song, "Invincible," is one that is still played throughout headphones and hype videos to get fans and players ready for an upcoming season or game.

Anytime someone hears the word "invincible," it gives him the mindset that nothing will hold him back, so this song, and it's lyrics, are a perfect complement to bring a winner's attitude to any challenge that someone has in front of him.

Used for an ad leading up to last summer's World Cup in Brazil by Beats By Dre, the song "Jungle" is one that allows the mind to play out everything that can be accomplished during a sporting event.

Like others on this list, it's not a song that gets the entire locker room screaming and hopping up and down in insanity. But it does get players in the mood to go out and, like a gladiator stepping into the Colosseum, dig deep to walk out victorious.

The struggle will be real, and this song is about fighting through it all.

We probably all remember how big Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa's banger "Black and Yellow" was a couple of years ago in the sports world—specifically during his hometown Steelers' run to the Super Bowl in 2011—but another one of Wiz's jams gets players hyped, too.

Played during a ton of college sporting events since it was released in 2014, "We Dem Boyz" is fire with its beat from the beginning and, thanks to the lyrics, is a song that a team can play in the locker room to rally around each other.

They're those boys who are about to win together, so it's time to get after it once Wiz is on.

Like a few other artists on this list, Drake is a diehard sports fan, making his lyrics and beats almost naturally aimed toward athletes.

His song "0 to 100/The Catch Up" definitely fits that mold.

Arguably the song of the summer in 2014, athletes took notice of the Canadian rapper's flow, using his songs to get them in the right mood before going out to perform.

Like the song says, "0 to 100, real quick," is exactly what an athlete does, flipping the switch into full-fledge battle mode once they step foot on the court or field.

An absolute classic, Eminem's "Lose Yourself" is still the undisputed king of hype songs in sports—even though it's nearly 13 years old.

Not only does the guitar in the beginning strike a nerve that gets an athlete in the right mentality prior to a big game, but when Em comes in with the words, "If you had one shot, one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would you capture it or just let it slip?" it sets the mood for whatever's in front of you to defeat.

Coming in with, "Success is my only option, failure's not," toward the end is just one more reason why this entire song makes someone dig deep within himself.

About the only track that would get me pumped would be Eminem's 'Til I Collapse'. It's truly a pretty great jam as far as hip hop goes. It's also safe to say that most athletes and I aren't getting pumped up with the same tunes though. But I would hedge my bets that Pantera's '5 Minutes Alone' could get anyones blood pumping.

Sometimes (often times) being really old can suck on a bunch of levels...One of which is rap...If I had to use rap to get amped up for a game, I'd miss the game all together...I would have killed myself before it started..
