Film: #49ers a ton of PA rollouts. #Rams easily defended them.

#49ers Film: on Ayers second near INT it was double seam routes. McDonald’s was swarmed, Miller’s uncovered......Kaepernick predetermined to target McDonald. Again eyes led D to ball.

#Rams Film: Barron excellent speed in the box, a quick closer in run D.

#49ers Film: Patton 33 yds classic ex. of a bad play with good outcome. Kaepernick perfect ball location but the coverage had responded well

#49ers Film: too many plays where Kaepernick’s eyes are on his receivers rather than the defenders. That’s how you throw into coverage.

#49ers Film: Vernon Davis multiple targets as a plus-split WR. Likely function of lack of WR depth.

Film: #49ers tactically limited approach (playing to personnel limitations), #Rams out-schemed them. Rams the significantly faster unit.

Film: Barron gives #Rams a lot of coverage flexibility in base, he can match up to TE’s.

#49ers #Broncos note: big concern is how much of a new O can Vernon Davis learn on the fly? His football IQ is not highly regarded.

Film: #49ers clearly wanted to hide Kaepernic+OL. Lot of screen passes and 1-read quick throws. Unsuccessful, #Rams D was still too quick.

Film: #Rams DL dominated #49ers interior OL of Boone, Martin, Devey/Tiller. It was the reason 49ers couldn’t run the ball.

Film: #Rams did a lot of post-snap attacks from safeties and inside CB’s. Run D tactics that also serve as well-disguised coverage rotations

Correction; 56 Ayers on near INT, not 26 Barron (who was also in the coverage)

#49ers #Rams Film: Baron near INT on Kaepernick badly predetermined PA in-breaker. Threw into de facto triple coverage, did not verify the D

#Rams #49ers Film: Brockers two outstanding run D plays on safety drive, overpowered and back-doored C Martin.

#49ers #Rams Film: on first play of three-out safety drive, Torrey Smith was uncovered for a smoke screen (CB Jenkins mistake)..... but Kaepernick did not look over there. Handoff for no gain.

Film: #49ers first series featured 3 TE package and moving pockets for Kaepernick. Getting QB comfortable.

Haha, Brockers "back-doored" Martin.

I'll see myself out.

Film: #Rams had TDs of 71 and 66 yds plus 49-yd set up other TD. Big plays were the extent of their offense. #49ers shut them down otherwise

Film: as game progressed, #49ers got a little more aggressive with their safeties in run D.

Film: #Rams good use of ghost reverse action. They have more of a misdirection-based offense than what meets the eye.

#49ers Film: Wilhoite showed some ability to slip blocks at second level.

Film: overall #49ers did a good job against Gurley and #Rams run game. Got gashed for a big play or two, that was the difference.

Film: #Rams made good use of their TE’s and extra backfield bodies in run game.

Film: #Rams good mix of gap runs, zone runs and split zone concepts.

#Rams Film: Austin 2-yd TD was jet sweep from slot to boundary side of field.

#Rams #49ers Film: Cook 49 yds was LOS TE seam route vs. Cover 3 sky out of zone exchange concept. Cook good outside stem to set up window.

Film: #49ers also played snaps of Quarters. That's basically Cover 2 w/ man principles. Fits CB's Acker and Brock well.

Film: #49ers continued to play basic zone foundation. Cover 2, some 3-over, 3-under Cover 3.

Film: #49ers played a lot of 2-high safety concepts early on. Questionable vs. #Rams O that runs a lot and isn’t very dangerous through air.

#Rams #49ers Film: Gurley 71 yds was perfect execution of “power” vs. 2-high split safety look. LG Reynolds great pull.

Film: #49ers featured 5-man rush concepts early on, out of zone and man.

#Rams Film: Foles early on got too much air under some balls, both on deep shots and ropes.

#Rams Film: Austin 24 yds (lost fumble) was PA deep drop vs. a very loose #49ers Cover 2. Foles far hash throw to wide open WR along numbers

#Rams Film: LT Robinson got tossed around in run and pass blocking. Given his build, suggests major technique issues.

#49ers Film: DE Dial flashed in run D early on. Outstanding strength to shed blocks. Ian Williams and Dorsey also made plays.

#Rams #49ers Film: Britt dropped beautiful 3rd down deep fade by Foles. 1 on 1 vs. Acker.

Pre-Film Notes on #Rams O vs. #49ers D: Gurley 23 touches on 36 snaps.

Film: #Rams used variety of tactics to keep eyes on Kaepernick. Even an example where S Mo Alexander spied him on 3rd down out of zone.

Film: Rams predominant man coverage concepts, including on some pressure designs.

#Rams Film: Donald continued to flash. Best initial quickness and second step burst among all NFL DT’s.

#49ers Film: Kaepernick inconsistent mechanics created inconsistent accuracy.

#49ers Film: WR Simpson had trouble separating on vertical routes.

#49ers Film: Kaepernick very poor sense for how to move up into the pocket. Covers too much ground, making the pass rush more of a factor.

#Rams #49ers Film: Quinn batted ball prevented Jenkins pick-6. Jenkins squatted in Cover 2 vs route, Kaepernick another predetermined throw.
