On a bad day for the Rams there were still a few bright spots and this play was the brightest IMO. One of the coolest things I've ever seen and I thought it was going to be flagged. I thought there was some rule against this sort of thing. "Leaping" or lining up over the center or something? In any case, I'm glad it counted.

That's a 2014 highlight that's for sure. (y)
I can't stop watching it. It's like a staged play you'd see in the Waterboy or something. Too bad Bobby Bouchet....uh, Bates, couldn't have scooped it up and ran it to the house.

Could the announcers be any more dead? They didn't even mention the block until the ball almost went out of bounds, and then just a bland "...blocked field goal try".

What a couple pieces of shit.

I think I remember him attempting this before in a game. It takes incredible timing and athleticism to pull that off. We have a true beast ST player in Bates.

He tried it against the 49ers but he was called for offsides. If they take that to the house and recover the onside kick, maybe we're not all so depressed today.

Shout out the Will Herring as well. Guys are coached to just fall on it, but he knew scooping the ball up and returning it for TD was Rams only prayer at making a comeback.

Obviously he didn't make it, but he was smart enough to at least try.

This is probably why I was thinking it was Herrig that made the Jump to begin with. it happened so fast and they were talking their BS! ( If I had an e-mail address I Flood 'FOX Sports' with e-mail complaints about these Guys!)

Bates and Harkey are my two favorite unsung heroes on this rams team. They're always blowing people up on key blocks, or making good special teams plays.

If the ball bounces downfield that could have been a TD. The ball really does take funny bounces.

If the player uses another player to help boost himself into the air, then it can be called for a "leaping" penalty. But Bates just cleared them all by himself, so it's legal!

Why? It didnt happen? It sure did....

Great play, and would have loved to see it get the love it deserved
This isn't about the announcers. No one needs them to validate the play. Celebrate the play and the player.
