I might ruffle some feathers here, but I dont think Bailey has anything special. He is a WR that plays hard, that's it. 5'10' 195 or so and he ran a 4.52 in the 40 at the combine. I think during the 4 weeks of his suspension, most Rams fans will forget he is even coming back.

This could happen..In fact, I expect it to happen too....in 2014....2015 will be another story. He does show a nice nose for the ball.

Does anyone know what his suspension was for? I know they said he failed the drug policy but Stedman said afterward he never took drugs and so some on here speculated that maybe he was late for or skipped a testing...anyone know?

By the way thanks for the video tavian...I hadn't seen that one before and I always like watching Mountaineers.

has any athlete ever admitted it....... they always deny it.......

It is disappointing. On the bright side he'll have fresh legs in December.

We all don't see the same things Rhody. No biggie. :)
I happen to think he could be pretty special. He looks to me to be a guy who can make some big plays out there. Every time he touched the ball he just looked like a natural to me. Good hands, good body control etc...

Using that thinking, Isaac Bruce wasn't anything special because his measurables weren't great. In fact, they weren't much better than Bailey's.

His game isn't in his size, though his long arms and leaping ability allow him to go up and catch the ball as well as most big guys. His game is in his phenomenal route running ability, allowing him to consistently get open against many CBs. His game is in his soft hands that just seem to pluck the ball out of the air. His body control, allowing him to make catches that seem impossible and adjust to any throw. His physicality fighting for the ball in the air. He may not be anything special, but guys like Reggie Wayne, Isaac Bruce, Hines Ward carved out HOF type careers with that type of skillset. There's no doubt he can have a solid career if those guys can have amazing ones.

Not trying to compare him to Bruce or anything, but his game goes way farther than measurables do, a lot like Bruce. That doesn't mean he'll live up to his hype around here, but he definitely could be special. I certainly won't forget he's coming back.

According to Wikipedia he either is equal to or better than last season's Pro Bowl WR Antonio Brown in all measurables except for bench press where Brown did 2 more reps. I see no reason he can't be our best WR.

The guy gets open and catches the ball. Who else on the roster right now can we say does both of those things consistently?

The report I read on it, and Bailey admitted to it, said he was taking some sort of drug to help him and his wife have a Baby. she was having trouble getting pregnant. They never reported if she got pregnant.

No feathers ruffled here, Rhody.

But after re watching that highlight film, my estimation of Bailey simply was further reinforced.

The kid is not only a complete football player, but he is a SPECIAL one. We can throw out all the measurables on this kid. He simply is constantly making plays on both ST and on O.

And let's not forget 2 very important things...

He never got an offensive snap until game NINE. Those highlights came from only half a season.

The other thing was he never was thrown a single one of those passes by Bradford. Those all came from Clemens. And with all due respect, Bradford is much the better QB. Bradford to Bailey, without question, is gonna be a much more potent combo, IMO.

I LOVE this kid and consider him a draft steal late in the 3rd round.

I totally believe in Bailey. He is the Rams #1 receiver. I would hope he is not in the Fisher doghouse. If he is not starting in the fifth game then that will be a horrible coaching decision.

Hopefully Britt and Sam can develop a rapport kinda like Clayton did with Sam in 2010 rookie year before the injury. Then, when Bailey comes back he can be that other guy teams gotta watch for. I think if anyone can be that solid possession receiver its Bailey. I still remember than split screen video of him and Pettis running the same route. Bailey had naturally cutting ability with sharp cuts in and out of his breaks while Pettis was rounding out his cuts. Bailey looked like he could run routes on the beach without leaving footprints in the sand.

The upshot of Bailey's suspension is it gives someone else the opportunity to show what they have over the first 4 weeks, hopefully Quick, a starting 3 of Austin/Bailey/Quick has the potential to be very good (a man can dream ).
