My kids would break that rockem sockem in a week. The helicopter wouldn't survive few hours. And I had something like that when I was a kid but it had a small plate that u taped to the ceiling with a 4 ft string and u hooked the helicopter to it, turned it on, and it flew around the room in a circle. The truck toy is cool, id play with that today lol. And couldn't get the kids a light bright, the little lights would be lost all over the house in a few days. But that commercial brought tears to my eyes, I always wanted one, lol.

On a side nite, X, u must be really old, that rockem sockem commercial looks like it was from the 20s. Lmao, jk

Loved my Rock'em Sock'em Robots. I had three of them over the years as a kid because we were constantly playing it. Kept breaking the little ratchet things in the neck.

Had several of these too. Of course if I recall right though, they went like a thousand feet in the air - not 35. :what: Seriously though, the ones we had went about 100 feet up.

And who could forget these? That's a picture of me from a couple of years ago BTW.

Anyone have one of these? Maybe the most dangerous toy ever made. Gotta love a toy that comes with a kiln. And you could eat bugs. Kinda liked the licorice flavored goop myself.

Couldn't help but think of these when I saw that. The perfect toy for those loving shards of hard plastic in their eyes.

Man, I remember a lot of those toys. The Lite-Bright, the Silly Putty, the Rock 'em-Sock 'em Robots...but my go-to toys as a kid were just regular old army men, and I used my imagination with them. Used to have them do battle against make-believe aliens for some reason, lawl.

I was too old for one of those when they hit the market and it sucked because they were clearly a hoot to ride.

Remember the comedian Gallagher? He had an adult sized big wheel made and he rode it on stage. I was jealous as hell hahaha

Hell yeah. I had at least a hundred of those things.

They're even better when you have firecrackers.

Man - I think every kid had at least a near miss on those damn things. The Big Wheel brake was the height of technology. Just yank on that thing and those plastic wheels made you go from 20 to 0 in a bone snapping 300 feet. Or you could be brave and stick your feet back on the peddles so you could shorten that distance by a good 30 feet. I never actually owned one but a friend of ours in Granada Hills had several of them. We were a regular triker gang. I DID hit a few parked cars on them but luckily nothing moving.

Comparing our toys, the kids these days might as well be wrapped in bubble wrap.

Interesting idea! Yeah, they should adult size some of these toys!

Nah, I couldn't bring myself to blow them up. Not after watching Toy Story as a kid.

Those are all great. I had most of them,,, and it's a miracle that my sis is still alive after riding her big wheel down the steep roads we had in Hawaii.

I was also influenced by our local Japanese TV channel in Hawaii. This was my favorite show (it was sub-titled in English),,, and I had this remote control motorcycle... State of the art for it's time btw...

BTW,,, I can still sing that entire song in perfect Japanese. It's like singing "The Flintstones" theme song for me.
