Back from the game, my thoughts

He's been a pretty good kicker for us, so I'm good. Even though his percentage dipped last year, he still made 80% of his kicks, and 92% the year before, after putting up 74% his rookie year. I'm just saying he isn't a problem for us. That could change, however.

I'm just saying, when we lose, we all lose. Win we win, we all win, but there are small w's and l's within those games.

There is also history, and percentages. Applies to every player....

I get that. My issue was when the 13-20 stat was thrown out there as if it told the whole story. I would expect a fan of some other team to find it to be that simple, but anyone who watched our games know what really happened within those stats. I can admit when someone isn't playing well, and I have, but this isn't the guy to jump on.

I get that. I don't think he was jumped on, per se, but I get it. I also see the concern.

Talk about perspective, when we play, not on GZ, to win or lose by a FG, then it's a relevant question, no?

No interest in burning him at the stake. Merely pointing out a area of concern. I was there. That 61 yarder was a thing of beauty. Now consider this - only one kicker has missed more FGs between 30 and 49 yards this season. What is more important. A guy who nails all of the kicks under 50 yards or a guy who makes the rare 60+ FG?

Well hell I can play the vague statistic to reinforce my point too. He's also tried twice as many kicks from your hand picked range as the rest of the NFL. Half of the kickers have only tried 2 or 3 from that range. The simple fact is Fisher's offense sucks and he has confidence in GZ being able to hit from anywhere in any condition so he'll throw GZ out there when most coaches would punt or go for it. There are probably 3 or 4 kickers with a strong enough leg in the NFL that their coaches would let them kick in that wind yesterday(regardless of the wind in their backs or not) and 2 of them were on the field. I'd say GZ, Tucker, Walsh and Hauschka even get those attempts, four or five of his misses are punts with 90% of the NFL.
