They probably don't want to put him out there in the regular season until he's ready. So if case gets injured in the 1st couple of games they will send Mannion in there instead of goff.

That's not what I got from that quote. Goff has been the one getting the second team reps and will be sharing first team reps next week against the Chiefs. Mannion is the backup to both Keenum and Goff.

If Case goes down, Goff will be next man up.
