Born in Arkansas, moved to LA in 1960, moved to Tulsa in 1961 and then back to Little Rock in 1964.

My Dad knew Eddie Meador from Arkansas Tech University and were reacquainted in LA.

Eddie sent me an autographed ball in 1969, which I still own and display.

I vaguely remember games from around '67 or so when I was about 7.

Ram fan since then, but not really due to residency in LA or St. Louis.

Born in San Fernando County/ Van Nuys/ North Hollywood {LA} area. Developed into a fan while living in the Lompoc Ca area playing football in Jr High School (1967/1968).

Settled back in Florida in 1969 where Rams fans were extinct or never there. My how things things have changed today, here in this ROD forum, Ram Fans in Florida are plentiful. I had a member of this forum come to my home/mancave where he & I watched the Ram game ...a first time event in my life where I was joined to watch a Ram game with a fellow Ram fan!:). It only took a half a century or more.:rolllaugh:

Me and the Wife going to PCB next weekend for vacation...passing close to Bonifay.

like it down there(y)

Born in L.A. (North Hollywood) in 1952, I basically grew up listening and watching the Dodgers with my grandfather, ... Vince Scully was like my 2'nd dad and Sandy Koufax was my first true sports hero. I first became a college football fan watching Gary Beban & OJ Simpson (UCLA & USC), and in the mid 60's also became a Rams fan as it seemed like a natural progression once college players graduated. My father graduated USC and later both my brother and I attended UCLA. Some of my best memories came from an annual traditional vacation to Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead from December thru early January, often snowed in and watching both Gary Beban and OJ Simpson on Saturday TV surrounded with friends and family & a ton of food prepared by the women. The 1967 battle between the two teams was epic, too bad Beban was injured or the outcome would have been different, in both this game and the '67 Rose Bowl. I was fortunate to attend the 1968 Rose Bowl against Indiana, and still have a piece of the goal post we tore down. L.A. had an abundance of great sports teams during these times with UCLA basketball's lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul Jabbar), Beban, O.J. & Rams greats Merlin, Deacon & their Fearsome 4some along with Roman Gabriel, Tom Mack, Jack Snow & Dick Bass, etc. It was probably those horns & that 1967 season when they went 11 - 1 - 2 behind George Allen that really cemented our lifelong football relationship.

I live in Brisbane Australia and have been a Rams fan since 84. We got very little NFL coverage down here then. One condensed game a week and the teams we saw varied week to week so it was hard to get a feel for any one team. I did like the Rams because of Dickerson and I seem to recall enjoying watching San Diego at the time as I recall them being pretty pass happy back then. The girl I started seeing at the time told me she was a Ram fan and that was good enough for me to lock them in!! :) Been a Ram fan ever since through thick and thin (and god knows there has been a lot of thin!!). My son has chosen to join the Rams flock as well. I feel sorry for him as he was too young to appreciate the GSOT and has only endured the suffering of the last 10 years. Looking forward to attending our1st Rams game next year.

became a Rams fan in 1979 when they played the Steelers in the SB. Had to do my brothers morning paper route for a week which meant getting up at 5 am in the winter in Connecticut

My dad took me to my first game at the Colesium to see the Rams vs Packers in 1957, I was just 5 years old, and a Die Hard Ram fan ever since. "Die Had", meaning I could care less where the Rams call home. They could play in Antartica and I would still be a Ram Fan. I'm not a "city first" fan, like some folks in the mid-west. They were never "Die Hard" Ram Fans. When the Rams moved in '94 of course I was disappointed, but the thought never crossed my mind to dump the Rams because of the move. I know there are a lot of disappointed Ram Fans in the Midwest, but they are still Ram Fans. Die Hard Ram Fans.

I moved to STL in 94 after I got married to a city girl. I remember the Ed getting built, I watched roof insulation get blown off during a storm & almost wipe out some construction workers, #yikes. I really had no clue about football or sports ownership or any other issues, and it wasn't until my wife & I moved to SGF MO in 96 that I started to follow STL teams, except the Rams which I didn't really know much about & they weren't making any noise at all.
But when the GSOT was born in 99, I was hooked -- there was never a more exciting football team to watch in my life. And then, one fateful night, Warner hoisted the Lombardi, gave the praise to Jesus, and being a baby christian I was never more proud of a team. I followed the Rams since, puked when they lost to the Cheatriots in 2001/2, got on RRF to follow "developments" (Vitt, Lineham, Spagz, Fisher...) & been hooked since. The move was sorely disappointing but I can't seem to stop myself being a Rams fan.

I watched that superbowl as a 9 yr old, living in SGF MO, I actually rooted for the Steelers... :hiding:
Cheered when Swann caught that TD pass, and booed when Youngblood took the field.
What can I say, I was a kid who had no clue about how cool the 79 Rams were. :dizzy:
But being a Ram fan now, they're all family to me now, all the old school teams :grouphug:

This is me, only with Ohio/Cleveland sports. Well sort of.

I'm 31, so I became a fan in 1998. Game against the Vikings that the Rams lost 38-31. I was 12 years old, but I remember Bruce's long TD catch, Kennison returning a punt for a TD, and Tony Banks coming up a yard or two short trying to tie the game as time expired.

But my dad became a fan in the 60s for the same reason you did - the Rams were on TV. He picked them when he was 6, and that was always going to be passed onto me. What's really funny is that I've always been a Cavs and Indians fan - I guess people didn't pay attention when they weren't good. But now that they're both really good, people have asked me more frequently why I'm a Cavs and Indians fan but then a Rams fan.

I don't live in Cleveland, I live in Columbus - so I don't have any loyalty to the city or anything like that - but I just respond that the Rams originated in Cleveland, so technically...

I was at that Rams Vikings game.

Been a fan since the Roman Gabriel/Jack Snow/George Allen days in the late 60's. Growing up a couple hours from the Bay Area I coulda easily been a Raiders fan. I met Daryl Lamonica the Mad Bomber the year after I became a Rams fan. The Raiders instantly became my second favorite team.

I was emotionally invested in the Rams watching every game from that 11-1-2 season and the playoff loss to the Packers. It was too late to switch teams so the Raiders had to settle for second fiddle with me. I hated that the Rams had the better record but still have to play that game on the road in freezing temps.

I can still remember that blocked punt that won the game against the Packers that season. Me and my best friend were on pins and needles that whole game. If the Rams lost they would not be in the playoffs. That game sealed the deal for me as a Rams fan and I never looked back.

Born at USC medical center in '75 but spent most of my adolescence in Reno so naturally, all my teams were Los Angeles based. When I was a kid we had a set of glasses in the cupboard, one had a Rams logo and one had a Raiders logo. I just started getting into sports and one day I decided I liked the Rams logo better. A lifelong Rams fan was born at that moment (sometime in the mid-80's).
The '89 season was so fun but getting blown out in the NFC championship game was brutal. I was about 15 years old at the time and even met Joe Montana earlier in the year (would rather have met Jim Everett).
When they moved to St. Louis I stayed a fan. Actually bought plane and game tickets to see my first Rams game September 16th, 2001 against the Falcons! What a surreal time. Since those games were canceled and I was living in the bay area I ended up seeing my first game at Candlestick 9/23. Great win and a great first game back after 9/11.
The Greatest Show on EARTH years was a dream come true. I'll never forget the feeling seeing the Rams as champions and Kurt hold that trophy. My heart even warmed up for Georgia during the celebration but only for a brief moment.
I've been to a handful of games at the old whiner stadium and at the dome in St. Louis but have yet to see the horns play in Los Angeles. I hope to soon...

Grew up in a Vikings family

so no one really knows how I became a Rams fan for sure ( I'm still the only one )

My best guess , was that old Rams logo from the 60's and 70's , as a little kid , I was just drawn to it , for me anyways , it just always stuck out

Born in LA,

The last time I saw my Grandpa alive, he took my brother and me to the Coliseum to watch my first NFL game the Rams hosting the Skins. My grandpa then asked me which team I wanted to win, and I told him the blue team. One of the best days of my life and the rest is, as they say, is history. My brother became a skin lifer from that day.

Little smoke grey fish bowl looking glasses from Mobile or Union 76 by any chance? If so, I had some of those as a kid. Was really mad when the last one got broken.

I had these bed sheets. Totally forgot about them until now.

Currently in Austin, TX. Never lived in or near LA or StL. I was living in the thriving metropolis of Lewiston, Idaho when I became a Rams fan at about age 8. I saw a picture in a Sears catalog of Merlin Olsen, a game action photo (they were still in the blue/whites of the 60's and early 70's). The horns on the helmet grabbed my attention and I've never looked back since. I'm pretty sure if you did a thorough analysis of my DNA there would be a Rams fan gene in there somewhere.

Too funny, born and raised in Lewiston myself!
