If Welker picks up two first downs on 3rd down, that will double our production. So it will be a good addition if he does that. But there could be one problem. Welker thrived on yards after catch with Brady hitting him in stride. Anyone think Foles can hit him in stride?

Yes, but it will be 3 yards off and he will have to jump for it. :)

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher hinted that Welker will be ready for Sunday's game against the Bears, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.
Fisher said the team is still evaluating Welker's readiness, but it sounds as if the recent acquisition is more likely to play than not. Expectations should still be held in check, as Welker will likely have a part-time role in the NFL's least prolific passing attack. At best, he'll be a regular presence in the slot in three-wide formations.

Any distractions to the defense Wes provides will benefit Todd, Tavon and the other "skill players" (as if OL positions are not skill positions too).

You had to know they would do everything possible to get him on the field as quickly as can be done. They need to morph the O into playoff mode so they better get cracking on trying to turn themselves into a well oiled machine as soon as possible.

Rams receivers have been running routes trying to get open, Wes runs routes that get him open. That was what made Bruce and Holt so good, Warner knew where they would end up.

IMO Welkers biggest contribution will be in teaching the young WRs how to read coverage and run routes. But heres to hoping he can provide a spark on 3rd down and keep the Gurley Express on the field.

Rams didn’t give Wes Welker a $200,000 signing bonus

A week ago, receiver Wes Welker was unemployed — and sufficiently desperate to find work to go on the record with NFL.com in an effort to plead his case.

It worked. But not as well as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has suggested.

Joe Lyons of the Post-Dispatch recently reported that the Rams gave Welker a $200,000 signing bonus. However, the Rams tell PFT that it wasn’t a signing bonus.

The deal, according to the Rams, is for the prorated minimum salary, plus incentives based on catches and playing time. For cap purposes, some of incentives were treated as a signing bonus.

The goal was to give Welker a chance to earn more than the minimum, if he performs well.

It’s still not clear whether Welker will have a chance to perform at all on Sunday against the Bears. While they need a pass catcher to replace Stedman Bailey during a four-game suspension, the Rams also need someone to replace Bailey on special teams.

The ensuing numbers game of selecting 46 players from 53 who’ll dress could make Welker the odd man out.

We don't know, since I have seen blame put on both Foles and the WR's not running precise routes. We know Welker runs precise routes, so we will learn some things about Nick Foles tomorrow I think..

You mean a receiver is going to be where he's supposed to be? Kind of a new concept there. Just might work. :yess:
