Amazing TV Ratings for the NFL on Sunday

In fact... the NFL kicked some major TV ratings ass.

The fudge-packers vs cowgirl game had 50 million viewers. That was just a Divisional Playoff game.

Compare that to the College Football Championship Game... that game only had like 27 million viewers.

Heard that on the radio this morning. The hosts were laughing about the so-called declining popularity of the NFL.

Amazing numbers really. Even if it was a game featuring 2 very popular teams. It wasn't even a Championship Game.

The NFL got really lucky the refs decided to stop calling pass interference after the Packers went up 21-3 and it was turning into an embarrassment much like all the other playoff games so far this year. Not that I'm trying to start a conspiracy or anything...

They weren't calling it BEFORE the lead either. I remember one of the packer WRs having his jersey ripped off his shoulder pads directly in front of the ref and there was no call. Even though the WR went right up to him with his shoulder pads hanging out and asked him how he missed the call. That happened before the big lead. LOL

What was truly embarrassing, for the Ref's, was to see a Packer WR get nearly stripped of his Jersey, and there was no Pass interference call made!! The entire Football World went "WOW! NO CALL!?!"
And I still haven't heard any comment, from any League official on it!!:rolllaugh:

In addition to the "America's team" ratings bump, I think it's a tribute to the NFL's every-day watered down product... Good football is rare on a normal Sunday now, so people are hungry to see a guy like Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. A big reason is he actually throws the ball down the field, which has become scarce. It's very ironic that a west coast offense-based system is producing that excitement, because the rest of the league's teams have been poisoned by the spread of the wussy horizontal principles that once defined that very system (including the Rams insulting attempt at offense last year). And all due respect to Sam breaking the record, but I'd rather watch paint dry than watch Bradford complete 80% of his worthless 1 yard passes... Anyway, seems logical to me when you have a playoffs with quarterbacks that actually throw the ball vertically like Rodgers or Big Ben of course the ratings will skyrocket because it's exciting offense.

It's my opinion that the NFL will ensure it's a Rodgers Brady Bowl or a Rodgers Roethlesberger rematch in he big one.
