I may get physically sick if the rams waste a 1st rounder on a qb.

Drafting a QB at #13 means Bradford is gone.

This isn't pre-free agency. When you draft a first round QB, he is you starter now or very soon.

So while I'm against drafting a QB at #13, if we did I would expect Sam to be dumped and I would understand why.

IMHO there is no first round talent at QB in this year's draft.

IMHO Manziel is at best a third round talent.

Huh? They'll be a ton of QB's who fall to #2 and even to #13. Why would the Rams take a QB in either scenario?

By fall I mean a QB you have rated higher than where you're picking, if for example you have Bridgewater rated as your number 3 player and he makes it to 13 then take him, if he is there at 2 he wouldn't have "fallen" to 2. If a player you have ranked higher is there at 13 then obviously don't take him.

If any of these qbs were any good they will go in the top 5. #13 is a wishy washy place to select a qb.

That's technically correct, but who the hell knows how a guy is gonna turn out. Pointing out the exception (not the rule) of Aaron Rogers slipping to 24 always helps though, and this draft has a ton of talent that could push QBs down the line. In my post I specifically mentioned Bridgewater because he could end up there. Mocks have him falling as far as 24 and going as high as 8, so there seems to be some mixed feelings about him. Personally, I like him more than any other QB in this class - but that may just be me too.

We need starters from our first 4 picks, especially at #13.

The last thing we need is a QB controversy too.

Pass - BIG TIME.

I am not a big draft guy, but what I would like to see is the team filling the needs that we have on the roster right now with the first round picks, then approach the back-up QB position after that. Just out of curiousity, what does the QB pool look like for next years draft?

And then what do you do? Pay a guy to sit for a year and learn then dump Bradford and take a big cap hit while you take a risk on a QB that several QB needy teams decided not to touch?

I don't see that being a good move.

Maybe if we are able to trade down a little from #2, and as a result pick up a good number of extra higher picks. In that case it might be a wise move. If we stay and pick at #2 and #13, then I don't believe it would be the best move for the team.

I really want the Rams to take a QB in this draft that will "push" Sam,,, not some longterm wishful-thinking-project. In addition to the reasons X stated,,, I'm a big believer in having competition within the team at every position. Having competition at every position, at least on some level, will increase production on the field. It's very healthy. I have always been a Bradford Fan, but when has he ever had to look in his rearview mirror since he's gotten into the NFL? I believe competition within the team is one of the biggest motivators there is.

Hopefully we will be able to find a very solid QB prospect after rounds 2 and 3 that will provide what we need... but I would not be at all upset if we drafted someone in those particular rounds if our talent evaluators thought it was the best move.
