I was listening the Turf Show Radio podcast, and an interesting topic came up. Any new Head Coach trying to "fix" a team is going to want to do it through the draft. As we all know, we are a little thin on premium draft picks this coming year. There aren't many players on this team that would warrant a high pick. So...what is the minimum you'd consider trading for, say, Aaron Donald? or Todd Gurley? Is there a blue-chip player you would trade for picks, and what would the compensation be?

Strongly disagree, 59.

On two levels, in fact.

First, we have picks in every round except the 1st. And maybe an extra 4th round comp pick for McLeod. That's a lot of picks if the FO knows what they're doing.

Second, this team is hardly bereft of talent. Any competent new HC candidate would leap at the chance to take the reins of this team. It's a dream opportunity, man. Kroenke/Demoff should have the pick of the litter among all possible candidates come January.

A coach will come here because they don't have to draft an Aaron Donald or Todd Gurley. They're already on the team!

Man, wassup with all this talk about new coaches, draft capital, etc?

We have 7 games left and still in the playoff hunt. Can we at least wait til the end of the season and talk about these nonsense. I'm sure there will be plenty of time in the off season to talk about it.

Tough crowd and pretty sad when people are already looking towards next year.

We have blue chip pieces. We merely need somebody to implement an offensive scheme and add a few pieces and we're competing for the playoffs. We're also just fine on draft capital with the expected compensation picks we should have 7 picks. There is nothing to keep a prospective new coach away.

Four and a half years of Fisher and we're consistently among the worst offenses and most penalized teams. We know what he is and so far he's left a lot to be desired. He has total roster control and brings in his choice of coaches. He's written the script and as far as I'm concerned we're on the closing act now with him leaving town after this season if not before. He's not changing or improving the offense, our QB went 9-19 for 53 yards in the final 3 quarters of Sundays game and he says the guy did good.

What do you expect when our head coach stubbornly sticks with the most physically limited QB on the roster, either satisfied with our horrendous offense (actions do speak louder than words) or delusionally believing that if they keep doing the same thing, it will get better. Anyone that thinks we are realistically in the playoff hunt with Keenum at QB is not thinking clearly. That begins with the head coach, who is sabotaging the Rams season.

The Rams job is now a "Premier Job". Owner that is willing to pay and gives complete control in the #2 market, with the best new stadium in the league in 19'. Not having capital but having some great young talent is more than enough.

Sleepy, have you not learned anything over the past 4 seasons? The season is over. Only the coach doesnt know it and will grind out games with a career backup thinking he still has a chance, while his only hope is playing the kid to re-energize the offense and the fan base. We are all just thinking ahead because the coach appears incapable.

This. The season was over when we got shutout by the Whiners. I knew we would be too inconsistent to be a contender. Such a pathetic showing that was.

I say we re sign Britt and trade him for a 4-5th. I do not know how realistic that is however.

potential franchise QB ..best Defensive player in the NFL ..a potentially great RB (sophmore slump hopefully) some talented pieces in Coop Higs britt a top ten D ...a soon to be amazing staduim... an owner that will give you time i can see an offensive minded coach coming in spending pretty much all the draft on offense and go from there

but if there was one person that i feel like we could get decent return on would be Gurley (i'm not letting anyone trade for Donald unless its their entire drafts for the next 5 years and their best player and maybe not even then) but you only let gurley go for two first rounders or 1st and 3 and one other pick

Any new coach....should understand this team is pretty complete...Maybe change out a few pieces...under-performers...even our line should continue to improve...but some of the stuff they do is baffling??? Concerned about the corners....maybe TE's/FB's...but we don't need a complete overhaul...just tweaks. I see guys like Coughlin, Gruden, Lovie, hell McCarthy too...loving this situation...Anyone that likes Goff and Gurley would love to be here. I'd assume that's almost everyone...

Dick Vermeil was 63 when he won the SB, Coughlin is 70, I have no problem with a older coach but that's just me. Listening to Coughlin last night he sound like he wants back in. Not sure if he would be the right fit or if he would be interested if the position was offered. Just throwing that out there.

Why? What 4th or 5th rounder would come in and give us the production Britt is giving us now? And if Britt can do it with a QB as physically limited at Keenum, he'll very likely do much better when we have an NFL caliber QB under center.

Damn, really?? Then why waste time watching and being frustrated? I'm sure there are way better things to do then waste 3+ hours a week the Rams right?

I watch because I love this team, I've recruited tons of people to watch them because I believe it will turn around soon.

Leg, I'm sure you weren't saying the season was over when the Rams won three straight, even though they dropped 4 games, 3 being pretty damn close, keeps me coming back and watch this team development.

I'm going to give Fisher another 1/2 season before I break out the pitchfork.

why not? If we are talking about shipping donald or gurley off why the hell not get something for Britt who is a free agent anyways?
