A look at Rams' day 3 options

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- After all the buildup, we are now just hours away from the NFL draft's completion. It goes away much faster than it comes.
The St. Louis Rams have seven picks today: a fourth, two sixths and four sevenths. One pick in the sixth and two in the seventh are compensatories and can't be traded.
Here's a quick look at how the day might play out for the Rams.
Players to watch: The Rams still have needs at quarterback, linebacker, offensive line, receiver and in the secondary. Some names to keep in mind for today include Georgia QB Aaron Murray, Pittsburgh QB Tom Savage, San Jose State QB David Fales, Montana linebacker Jordan Tripp, Arizona State linebacker Carl Bradford, Florida State linebackers Christian Jones and Telvin Smith, Furman offensive lineman Dakota Dozier, South Carolina receiver Bruce Ellington, Alabama receiver Kevin Norwood, Clemson receiver Martavis Bryant, Lindenwood cornerback Pierre Desir, Minnesota safety Brock Vereen, USC safety Dion Bailey, Florida cornerback Jaylen Watkins and Clemson cornerback Bashaud Breeland, among others.
A trade?: The Rams believe they don't have a whole lot of openings on their roster, meaning it would be hard for 11 draft picks to make the roster. That means you could easily see a trade today. What makes the most sense? The Rams gave up a fifth-round pick to move up for Florida State defensive back Lamarcus Joyner and could potentially get back into the round with their own sixth and seventh round picks plus the seventh-rounder they have from Indianapolis. Since you can't trade compensation picks, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them try to package those picks to move into the fifth-round. That would give them picks in every round and limit the size of the draft class so they can get to work on priority free agents.
Free-agent fun: The Rams will again be active like every team in adding undrafted free agents but don't be surprised if they use those late compensation picks on some guys who might otherwise go undrafted in an effort to ensure they can land them. A position like offensive line would make sense to add bodies so they can have their pick of the potential UDFA crop.
