When my father in law was very I'll in 2003, we were living 120 miles away, in St Louis county. My wife was a daddy's girl and wanted to go back home. So we moved back and I decided to get a job doing something different. I decided to sell cars. LOL I was terrible, mostly because I would credit counsel my customers. That and the dealership didn't care about repeat business and screwed over a lot of my customers. I could have sold more, but I couldn't leave my soul at the door. After 5 months I was back in I.T.
A job that you would be good at, but weren't.

I am going back to High School. I worked at a local public pool as the door entry guy. I checked memberships for entry and collected payment for any guests they bring.

What could go wrong? Nothing bad really, but I ended up dating one of the cutest regulars. She was gorgeous. Whenever she was at the pool, I was so distracted it wasn’t funny.
She was at the pool. I was SUPPOSED to be at the front gate. Lots of internal conflict there.
By boss never said anything but I think I was crappy at this job.

Worked in a cabinet making shop right out of high school. Really wanted to build custom cabinets for a living.
Well, the job sucked and I sucked at it.
Stuck inside all day while the summer sun was shining. I would just stare out the one window in front of my work station and dream about being outside.
My job was working the glue gun on thr assembly line and I got glue all over everything.
Lasted 9 1/2 days.Walked out at lunch time my 2nd Friday and went to the beach with girlfriend and never went back

My dad is very creative and extremely good at working with Metal and Wood - the exact opposite of me.
I think I got a D in 6th grade art class and only got a D because the teacher felt sorry for me.
Stick figures are about the best I can do in Pictionary.
Anyway - my dad owned a Sheet Metal Shop and had me work the summers when I was a teenager.
He tried to get me to do simple stuff - bending metal at an angle - drilling holes in a certain spot.
He set it up so that it should have been easy for me and I pretty much messed up every piece of metal he gave me.
He gave up any hope of me taking over the shop after those few summers.
And that's why I became an Accountant - lol

I'm understand your pain. I have 6 older brothers and they, like my dad, were all very mechanically inclined. Not me, thank god I was good with computers...
