Today is a special day for me. Isaac Bruce is my all time favorite Ram and to me always represented what it meant to be a Ram. But...there’s another legend that held the number 80 first. And I just didn’t feel right excluding him. So day 80 is the first duo highlight reel of this countdown. Henry Ellard and Isaac Bruce.

What an amazing career.

When I looked up his stats I thought I’d try to find that 80yd TD... and found it.

For those of you that watched all or most of Ellards career, would you see he is equal, less, or more talented and accomplished as Bruce?

I would say they were certainly right on par with each other. Both elite route runners and dedicated to their craft. Ellard was probably a little faster though.

I would have to think it is even, Corbin. When Ellard played it was a more balanced offensive game, maybe even run heavy. In the NFL as it stands today, Ellard would have had a better chance to improve his stats. He might be faster that Bruce, but I think Bruce is the better route runner.

First year hitting 1,000 yds, 1995

Final season hitting 1,000 yds, 2006

12 season span... Impressive.

Off topic but since this is a countdown I just wanted to say that this feels like the slowest offseason ever.

Being a Fresno guy I followed Ellard's career from Fresno State to the Rams. He played high school in Fresno too. But I gotta give the best receiver nod to Bruce.
