Aaron Donald tells us on @101ESPNFastLane that he's going to wear No. 99 for the #Rams.

This was my favorite pick of the draft. He's my kind of football player; brings his hard hat and lunch pail and goes to work. This is a plus for Brockers as well, because Brockers faced a lot of double teams. You can't double both guys inside, so teams are going to have problems.

I like 99 for him. Hopeful he balls out like we all know he can.

The crazy thing is, you can't justify double teaming him, because obviously Quinn is there and requires attention from multiple guys every play or it's guaranteed pressure, and Brockers requires two guys or he's going to push his guy right into the QB and he's quick and athletic enough to get into the backfield and make the tackle. Long also requires attention because his technique and hand usage is so violent, he's hard to block and he has that high motor where he's going to play until he breaks through, and he breaks through often.

You can maybe double Donald over Long, because obviously Donald's elite quickness and speed, combined with his strength and leverage getting under pads makes him extremely tough to block. He has so many moves and is so athletic, it's hard for one guy to block him. He'd just swim move and shoot the gap immediately. But then Long gets pressure if you don't take care of him.

And you can't double 3 of those guys anyway, because you don't have enough players. Some guy is going to get a great matchup on a back or TE, or go unblocked. There's no way a team can allocate enough resources to these guys unless they have an elite OL.

And this is all without bringing extra men. If the Rams blitz, the other team is probably done. They'd just collapse.

So much to think about, didn't cover a lot of it. It's crazy how good our DL is now.

Obvious passing situations with Long - Hayes - Donald - Quinn are going to be sick enough. Imagine more press coverage and some of Gregg Williams blitz packages and WOW.

Key to the defense is stopping the run- we do that- this pass rush will destroy offenses. Not a coincidence with us facing a ton of good rushing attacks, we drafted secondary that all tackle fiercely. Smart move. Priority #1- stop the run. we do that- this D will be top 3 in the NFL and lead the NFL in Sacks- and maybe by a good margin.
